Introducing Green Lids for a Greener Future.

As we look ahead to the 2025 beekeeping season, I’ve got some exciting news to share — and it’s all about honey, sustainability, and keeping things local.

In an effort to keep the cost of our honey jars at the same affordable price (£6 for a 340g jar), I’ll be starting a new initiative: recycling returned jars (please wash them before returning).

What’s new?

From 2025 onwards, I’ll be cleaning, sterilising, and reusing any jars that are returned to me. These recycled jars will be easy to spot — they’ll be sealed with NEW green lids.

So if you see a green lid on your jar of honey, that means:

  • You’re holding a recycled jar.

  • You’re directly helping reduce packaging waste.

  • You’ve helped keep our local honey as affordable and eco-friendly as possible.

Why the Change?

Glass jars are a big part of the cost of packaging — not to mention the environmental footprint of producing and transporting them. By reusing jars that are in good condition, we cut down on waste, save energy, and reduce costs — a win-win for everyone.

How You Can Help

If you've got empty jars, just bring them back when you’re picking up your next jar. I’ll take care of the rest — a thorough clean and sterilisation, ready to be refilled and resealed with a green lid.

Whether you’ve been supporting our bees for years or just discovered our honey, I’m so grateful for your continued support. Together, we can enjoy delicious local honey and make small changes that help the planet.

Keep an eye out for those green lids in 2025 — they’re more than just a colour, they’re a sign that you’re part of the solution.
